- One teamsurvey to fitting, no subcontractors
Staircases
Twelve kinds of stair. One workshop.
Straight, landing, multi-flight, spiral, helical, fire escape, garden, basement and lightwell stairs, in galvanised steel, stainless or aluminium. Each has its own page because each is a different design problem.

Steel staircases
The workhorse: straight, landing and multi-flight stairs in mild steel, galvanised and coated.

Metal staircases
Mild steel, stainless or aluminium, chosen to suit the setting and the budget.

External staircases
A weatherproof way up to an upper-floor flat, annexe or office.

Garden staircases
Terrace to lawn, deck to patio, house to garden on a sloping site.

Galvanised staircases
The finish that keeps a steel stair rust-free for decades.

Basement staircases
External access to basement flats and lightwells without losing the space.

Lightwell staircases
Stairs and railings for lightwells and sunken courtyards.

Straight staircases
One flight, one direction, the simplest and most economical stair.

Multi-flight staircases
Several flights joined by landings, for two and three storeys.

Spiral staircases
A full staircase in a footprint the size of a dining table.

Helical staircases
A curved stair with no centre column: the showpiece.

Fire escape staircases
Compliant escape stairs for flats, shops, offices and schools, with the paperwork.
Balustrades
Guarding that frames the view instead of blocking it.
Steel bar, glass, glass and stainless posts, frameless channel glass, modular systems and wire infill, for balconies, terraces, stair flights and landings, indoors or outdoors, all designed to BS 6180.

Balustrades
Guarding for every edge that needs it: stairs, landings, balconies, terraces, indoors and out.

Internal balustrade
Stair and landing guarding that suits the house.

Glass balustrade
Toughened glass guarding for balconies, terraces, landings and stairs.

Glass and stainless balustrade
Stainless posts and handrail with glass infill.

Glass modular round balustrade
Round stainless post system for fast, clean installations.

Glass modular square balustrade
Square stainless posts for a sharper, more architectural line.

Frameless glass channel balustrade
No posts, no frame: glass standing in a floor channel.

Wire infill balustrade
Stainless cables between posts for a light, modern line.

Survey and drawing
The site is measured at no charge, then you receive plan and elevation drawings with a fixed quotation. Steel is not ordered until you have signed both off.
Fabrication
Welded and dressed in the East Grinstead workshop, dipped at the galvanisers, and coated in the RAL shade you picked from the chart.
Installation
Our fitters deliver and bolt it down, usually inside a day, and leave you the as-built drawing and the galvanising and coating details.

Who we work for
Architects, builders, landlords and homeowners across three counties.
We price tender packages for construction companies, supply drawings and calculations for architects and building control, fit escape stairs to blocks of flats for managing agents, and make the balcony, garden stair or glass balustrade that a homeowner has been thinking about for years. The same workshop, the same fitters, the same drawing standard for all of them.
Areas we cover
East Grinstead and everywhere within about an hour of it.
Before you ring
The questions that come before the phone call.
When can I expect a figure?
From a drawing, a photo with the approximate height, or a tender pack, our estimate normally comes back before the end of that working day, and the free survey later turns it into a firm, fixed price.
Is the staircase made in-house?
Yes. Our East Grinstead workshop staff handle the design, fabrication, galvanising arrangements, powder coating and fitting. Nothing is passed to a subcontractor.
Which finish should I choose for an outdoor staircase?
Hot-dip galvanising as the base every time. Leave it silver-grey if you like the industrial look, or pick a RAL shade for the powder coat to match windows and doors.
Can you supply drawings for planning and building control?
Yes. Plans and elevations to scale come with every job, and where the inspector wants signed structural calculations we arrange them through our engineer.
Do you work on commercial buildings as well as houses?
Both. Escape stairs and access flights for offices, schools, flats and industrial units make up a large share of our work, alongside domestic stairs and balustrades.
What is your travel radius?
Roughly an hour from East Grinstead: all of Sussex, Surrey and the Kent border, down to the coast at Brighton and Worthing and up to the edge of London.
