Frameless glass channel balustrade
The cleanest balustrade there is: laminated glass standing in a slim channel at floor level, with nothing between you and the view. It takes careful design and a solid floor to fix to, both of which we supply.
How it stands up
The channel, in aluminium or stainless, is bolted to the structure and the glass is locked into it with a clamping system or a structural setting compound. The glass does all the work, so it is laminated toughened, typically 17.5 or 21.5 mm, and thicker on high balconies or where the top edge is unprotected.
Fixing options
Top-mounted on the floor, side-mounted on the fascia of a balcony or a stair string, or set into a recess so the channel disappears. The floor or fascia has to be strong enough, which is the first thing we check at the survey.
With or without a handrail
On a balcony or landing a frameless balustrade can be finished with a slim stainless cap, a timber handrail, or nothing at all when the glass is specified for it. On stairs a handrail is normally required.

Yes, because the glass is thicker and laminated and the channel and fixing are heavier. It is the premium option and looks it.
